Employers are increasingly concerned with ensuring both potential and current employees have the skills necessary to thrive in today’s workplace. North Carolina’s Career Readiness Certification (CRC) is designed to meet the needs of both employers and job seekers.
The goal of Human Resources Development is to educate and train individuals for success in the workplace. The courses focus on employment training, counseling, and assistance in preparing individuals for entry or reentry into the workforce.
Adults who are unemployed, underemployed, or who are seeking a career change find assistance through these courses.
Courses are available in career exploration , job seeking and job keeping strategies, study skills, and basic computer skills training. Instructors assist students in many areas including communication skills, career decision-making, problem solving, self-assessment, skills identification and awareness, interviewing, resume writing, and application completion.
Fees for these courses may be waived for those who are unemployed, who have received notification of pending layoff, or who meet income eligibility requirements.
